Overclocking an XFX Radeon HD 5870
Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 1:30AM I am just starting getting into overclocking my computer, and i have been trying to do lots of research and reading up on the subject. There are a ton of articles and websites out there, the only problem i am having now is compiling all the useful info into bite size pieces.
Last night, i figured i would try overclocking my graphics card becuase it seemed like it would be the easiest thing to do. And it was. The XFX ATI Radeon HD 5870 comes with an overclocking tool built into the Catalyst control center. All i had to do was boot up the Catalyst control center and adjust the faders past the stock timings and then run a test. No big deal. My computer past he test no problem and that was it. I didnt mess with it much besides this or test it in game, but it worked, which i am thrilled about.
I will try to overclock my CPU and Ram this weekend i think, if i am feeling brave. I still need to install a larger cooler for my CPU still, but this shouldnt be a problem.
